How to plan your travel for reconstructive surgery

The Florida Breast Center provides world-class, integrative care for breast cancer reconstruction patients from all over the globe. Should you choose our surgeons to provide your reconstruction surgery, we will help make your visit as comfortable and easy as possible.

The step-by-step information below is designed to explain and help facilitate this process.

First Steps

Contact our office online or by phone.
We’ll provide you with preliminary information on any procedures you are interested in.

One of our friendly staff will be happy to give you some preliminary information about the procedures in which you are interested.

For our out-of-town patients, there are two options:

1. Travel to one of our clinics for a face-to-face consultation with one of our surgeons, and schedule your reconstruction surgery for a future date.
2. Email photographs to our surgeons, including a short description of your desired reconstruction results. After reviewing your information, we’ll be able to assess whether you are a good candidate for your chosen reconstruction option.

Our patient care coordinator will provide you with an estimated range of costs for your procedure(s), and answer any questions you may have about pre-operative care, recovery, where to stay during your trip, and anything else you want to know. When you schedule your surgery, you will also be booked for a face-to-face consultation with your surgeon.

Scheduling Your Procedure

As soon as you book your surgery, we will send you pre-operative information and instructions via email, including any necessary blood work or tests to be performed. Please read and follow these instructions carefully, as careful compliance will help ensure the best results of your reconstruction.

14 days before your surgery, you’ll receive a call from our physician’s assistant, who will review your medical history and instructions with you.

No matter where you’re from, you deserve the best breast reconstruction options and care available. To that end, the Florida Breast Center works to ensure that your travel will be perfectly coordinated with your transportation, lodging, and medical appointments.

Work with our helpful staff to choose a lodging option that suits your needs and your budget. For your convenience, the Center has partnered with a local driving service to provide transportation. We also work with local hotels to offer our patients discounted rates.
